Iranian women, advocates of Generation Equality and the Force for Change
Iranian women are true advocates of Generation Equality and the Force for Change in Iran.
During crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, women make essential contributions as leaders and frontline responders. But they are also hit harder by the health, economic and social impacts of the outbreak.
With the Iranian regime concealing the truth and covering up the scale of infections, nurses and healthcare workers in Iran bear the brunt in coping with the outbreak.
Even before the coronavirus outbreak, Iran stood way below the international standards with a severe shortage of physicians, nurses, and medical staff. Presently, Iranian hospitals are stretched to the limit, and all nurses and physicians are exhausted.
Iranian women, and particularly nurses and physicians have been selflessly endeavoring to combat the virus and save the lives of their fellow citizens.
Their roles as health professionals, community volunteers and more place them at an increased risk of infection.
Nurses who have not received their salaries and dues for months did not hesitate for moment to fulfill their duty to care for the patients.
Doctors risked their lives to treat the patients.
The regime’s failure to provide protective equipment and medical resources could not prevent them from fulfilling their duties.
Despite all the problems under the mullahs’ misogynous regime, women of Iran are working on par with men in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. They are the women of Generation Equality.
Iranian women are true advocates of Generation Equality, and they are the Force for Change.
